KOTA BHARU, KELANTAN

Kota Ismail Petra.

Kawasan Kota Sultan Ismail Petra ini merupakan kawasan tumpuan utama pelancongan di Kelantan. Terdapat pelbagai monumen bersejarah di sini seperti Padang Merdeka, Bank Pitis, Bank Kerapu, Istana Jahar dan Istana Balai Besar. Dan ianya juga menjadi mercu tanda  Bandar Kota Bharu. Dan ianya menyediakan tempat parking untuk anda yang ingin melawat tempat2 menarik. . Semua lokasi  yang anda ingin lawati tidak perlu menggunakan kederaan anda Cuma  perlu berjalan kaki sahaja kerana kawasan ni hanyalah bersebelahan.

Istana Balai Besar.

Lokasi Istana Balai Besar ianya bersebelahan dengan pusat kraf tangan. Dan Istana Balai Besar inilah kediaman rasmi Sultan Kelantan  pada masa dahulu. Tahun wujudnya bandar Kota Bharu sama dengan pembinaan istana ini iaitu pada tahun 1844.  Sekarang ini, istana ini tidak lagi menjadi kediaman rasmi Sultan Kelantan, tetapi masih digunakan jika ada upacara dan adat istiadat rasmi DiRaja.

Kampung Kraf Tangan.

Kampung kraftangan yang terdapat di bandar Kota Bharu ini adalah antara lokasi pelancongan utama Negeri Kelantan.Walaupun namanya Kampung Kraftangan, namun ia bukanlah kampung sebenar. Hanyalah simbol pelancongan untuk dijadikan daya tarikan kepada pelancong.

Bagi yang ingin membeli cenderamata anda boleh datang ke sini terdapat pelbagai jenis cenderamata yang ada di jual di sini. Selain itu, juga  Kampung Kraftangan ini sangat sesuai jika datang seisi keluarga terutamanya pada musim cuti sekolah. Jika datang menginap di sekitar Kota Bharu, Kampung Kraftangan ini adalah tempat yang wajib anda lawati.

Restoran Nasi Ulam.

Ianya bersebelahan dengan kampung krafttangan Kawasannya yang  sangat strategic. Bagi penduduk Kelantan, restoran Nasi Ulam Cikgu ini memang tidak asing lagi. Ianya  sangat terkenal dengan masakan kampung asli Negeri Kelantan yang menggunakan resipi turun temurun keluarga Cikgu Hamid.

Apabila masuk waktu tengahari restoran kelihatan sangat padat kerana terlalu ramai yang datang  

Terdapat pelbagai jenis ulam-ulaman dan pelbagai jenis laut .Harga pula memang sangat berpatutan. 

Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah.

Dulunya nama asal Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah ialah Pasar Besar Buluh Kubu ianya ia telah ditukar namanya kepada nama ini oleh Menteri Besar Kelantan sebagai tanda penghormatan kepada kaum Hawa, memandangkan majoriti peniaganya terdiri daripada golongan wanita.

Satu pemandangan yang unik di pasar-pasar di Kelantan ialah peniaganya yang rata-rata terdiri daripada kaum wanita yang terkenal dengan minat berniaga .Pasar ini mempunyai 4 tingkat dan berbentuk segi lapan. 

Di pasar ni juga terdapat pelbagai jenis makanan dan kuih muih yang di sediakan.Di samping, tu juga pasar ni juga menjual kain2 batik ,songket dan lain2.

Pantai Cahaya Bulan atau PCB.

Pantai Cahaya Bulan merupakan salah satu pantai yang terkenal di negeri Kelantan. Ia terletak kira-kira 10 km dari Kota Bharu. ianya terkenal dengan tempat perkelahan. Dahulunya pantai dikenali sebagai Pantai Cinta Berahi .Uniknya pantai ini adalah mempunyai kawasan pesisir pantai yang panjang. 

Persisiran pantai ini adalah sejauh 1.2 kilometer.Di samping itu, juga Pantai ini dilengkapi dengan kemudahan untuk para pengunjung, terdapat pilihan resort, chalet, kawasan perkhemahan, kedai makan dan gerai, dan tandas awam. Bagi mereka yang tinggal di resort tersebut, jangan lepaskan peluang menikmati keindahan matahari terbenam pada waktu senja.Jika anda belum pernah menjejakkan kaki ke pantai ini, wajib datang ke sini jika anda menginap di sekitar Kota Bharu.

FIRST GENERATION SINGAPORE

Selain Orchad, masih banyak tempat menarik lain yang boleh anda kunjungi semasa bercuti ke Singapura, seperti menyusuri Sungai Singapura dan berhenti di depan Hotel Fullerton. Jangan terkejut apabila melihat sekelompok anak terjun ke sungai, kerana ini hanyalah patung.

Patung unik dan lucu ini dibuat oleh seorang pematung bernama Chong Fah Cheong. Patung yang diberi nama 'First Generation' dibuat untuk menggambarkan kehidupan awal masyarakat Singapura. Dulu, Sungai Singapura pernah menjadi jalur utama kehidupan negeri singa itu.

Saat itu, masih ramai kank-kanak yang sibuk bermain di tepian sungai, kemudian lompat untuk menikmati sejuknya air sungai. Sayangnya, keceriaan itu hilang ketika projek pembersihan sungai pada 1983 dilaksanakan. Penduduk di pinggiran sungai dipindahkan ke tempat tinggal yang baru.

THE BATTLE BOX, SINGAPORE

Regarded as one of the premier tourist attractions in Singapore, The Battle Box hails as one of the most important World War II sites in the country. It is a massive military bunker located some 9 metres below ground in Fort Canning Park, and was where General Percival made the decision to surrender Singapore to the invading Japanese forces on 15 February 1942. It was part of the British Far East Command Headquarters which was built in 1926, the building of which currently houses The Legends Fort Canning Park, a town club.

In the mid 1930s, plans for an underground bomb-proof operations room were drawn up. The Battle Box, as it was known, was completed in 1939. It comprised 26 rooms, 2 entrances and a cat-ladder escape hatch. Although the structure was bomb-proof, it was susceptible to flooding from the near-by reservoir. Works to prevent flooding were completed just before the war broke out.

It was opened in 1997 to the public as the war museum as it currently stands. Through the use of specially arranged audio and video effects, and specially crafted figurines, we bring visitors back to the morning of 15 February 1942, when the decision to surrender was made by British Officers and Singapore fell to the Japanese.

The Battle Box works closely with the National Heritage Board and the Association of Singapore Attractions in its programmes and publicity.

The Battle Box is located at 2 Cox Terrace Singapore 179622, and is easily accessible by bus and MRT.

CAT MUSEUM, SARAWAK

 The Kuching’s Cat Museum is the first museum of its kind in the world. It is managed by Kuching North City Hall and has collection of Cat artifacts acquired from the National Museum which displayed them in one of its galleries in Kuala Lumpur. These collections were bought to Kuching City by the Sarawak Museum and displayed for the first time on 1^st August 1988 at the Dewan Tun Abdul Razak.

 Cat Museum or Muzium Kucing Kuching is located in Kuching, Sarawak, in East Malaysia. It is located on the Ground Floor of the Kuching North City Hall Headquarters Building where the building is situated in Bukit Siol, Jalan Semariang, Petra Jaya. The museum is situated on the hill of Bukit Siol, around 60 meters above sea level.

 

To get to the Cat Museum, take the bus - Petra Jaya Transport No. 2B or 2C anywhere in the city. You can also drive to the museum. Firstly, drive to Satok Suspension Bridge, and then drive to Normah Medical Centre. Then, turn to Jalan Semariang and head to the DBKU.

DAYANG BUNTING LAKE, LANGKAWI

The island, which is about 20 kilometres from Kuah town, is modestly populated on one side and virtually uninhabited on the other where the lake is situated. 

The legend of Dayang Bunting Lake goes like this: The favourite bathing pool of a celestial princess named Mambang Sari was said to be Dayang Bunting Lake (Lake of the Pregnant Maiden). A prince, Mat Teja, fell madly in love with her and tricked her into marrying him.

 Sadly, their child died from a mysterious illness at the age of seven days. Distraught, the grieving Mambang Sari left the child's body in the lake and returned to her heavenly abode. Today, some believe that barren women who bathe in this lake will be endowed with a child.

Getting to Dayang Bunting Lake is not a difficult activity to be arranged in Langkawi. All you need to do is just basically make some phone calls to make a reservation for an island hopping tour, or alternatively, you may request your hotel to arrange the tour for you. Island hopping tour is one of the most popular activities organized by the local agent. In Langkawi, travel agents such as the Langkasia Travel & Tour Sdn Bhd, the Esteem Lane Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd and the Sala Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd do make arrangement for such tour.

Basically there are plenty of travel agents available in Langkawi. However, you do not have to visit each of them. Just call the agents to make booking 1 day in advanced, and they will arrange transportation and the tour package for you. The price for an island hopping tour costs about RM 35 to RM 60 per person. For those who travel in a group, you can choose to rent the boat for 8 persons at RM 280 or RM 300 for a 12-person boat. The tour usually starts at 10 am and the boat will depart from Awana Porta Malai terminal. Some agents do offer complimentary pickup from hotel to the terminal, especially for guests staying in Pantai Cenang.

From the terminal (which is located at Pantai Tengah), it takes about 20 minutes to reach Pulau Dayang Bunting by boat. There will be a small jetty for drop-off purpose and merely a 2-minute walking distance from the jetty, you will be able to see the entrance to the Dayang Bunting Lake (Lake of the Pregnanat Maiden) Marble Geoforest Park. While walking, take your time to enjoy the wonderful scenery as the sea in turquoise is surrounded by thick and lush forest.

FRASER HILL, PAHANG

Fraser's Hill derives its name from one of the more colourful characters in Colonial history, James Louis Fraser, an adventurer and fortune hunter. The drive up to Fraser's Hill is slow and winding, but the scenic beauty of the surroundings will undoubtedly take your mind off the meandering ascent. Before reaching the summit of Fraser's Hill, you will have to pass through the gap, a section of the road that is only accessible in one direction at a time. As such, the road is open for an hour to traffic heading uphill and vice-versa through the day. It is customary for travelers on route to Fraser's Hill to stop over at the Gap Rest house for tea while waiting for the road to be opened. The resthouse also provides accommodation for those who arrive too late at night to make the final ascent to the top Fraser's Hill.


One of the coolest and most beautiful courses in Malaysia, De Club Golf at Fraser's promises a challenging 18 holes for the avid golfer. De Club Golf was designed by world-renowned golfer and international consultant Rodger Davis, and features a colonial style clubhouse with tennis courts, food and beverage outlets and other amenities associated with a world class course. Plans have also been drawn up for a hotel and corporate bungalow to be built around the course.

The Paddock at Fraser's Hill provides ponies for novices who would like to experience the pleasures of horseback riding and horses for more proficient riders. Horseback riding is an ideal way to explore Fraser's Hilland there are

a number of trails that spiral around the hillside. There is nothing quite like feeling the rocking canter of a horse beneath you as the cool morning air whispers past your face. It is truly and experience you will never forget.

Fraser's Hill is also a haven for bird-watching with over 270 species of local and migratory birds flocking together here. Each year, the Malaysian Nature Society, in conjunction with the Fraser's Hill Development Corporation organizes the international Bird Race. This event has achieved tremendous success, with participants from all over the world converging at Fraser's Hill to see which team can sight, identify and record the most number of birds as stated in the official checklist. This world-renowned event seek to promote Fraser's Hill as a bird sanctuary and encourages bird watching as a healthy outdoor activity which can be appreciated by all. Fraser's Hill is fast becoming a centre for bird watching enthusiasts.

There are two alternative routes from the capital city to this quaint hilltop resort. The first is via the Kuala Lumpur- Karak Highway, turning off towards Raub and then off to the left again before Raub to arrive at the Gap. The other route is the scenic old road towards Penang, branching off at Kuala Kubu Baharu before proceeding to the Gap. At the Gap, due to the narrow road, there is a gate which allows for one-way traffic to the summit. This operates from 6.30 am to 7.00 pm and is open for ascending traffic at odd numbered hours and descending traffic at even numbered hours.

If you intend traveling by bus to Fraser's Hill, you will be able to catch it from Pudu Raya bus terminal in kuala Lumpur to Kuala Kubu Baharu. where you will have to take another bus up to Fraser's Hill. The bus traveling up to the summit leaves Kuala Kubu Baharu twice daily, at 8.00 am and 12.00 noon, while the downhill bus leaves Fraser's hill at 10.00 am and 2.00pm. Taxis traveling direct to Fraser's Hill are also available from Kuala Lumpur.

LANGKAWI CABLE CAR, KEDAH

The Langkawi Cable Car or Panaroma Langkawi Cable Car is one of the major attractions in Langkawi, Kedah. It provides an aerial link from near Burau Ray Resort at Teluk Burau to the peak of Gunung Machinchang, which is also the location of the Langkawi Sky Bridge. It was officially opened in 2003. At 709 metres above sea level, the cable car ride up to Langkawi's second highest peak is truly an experience not to be missed. 

Throughout the 20-minute ride, you will pass over jungle waterfalls and a thick carpet of virgin rainforest. On a clear day, you can see parts of Thailand towards the north and Indonesia towards the south-west. 

Travelling at a steep incline of 42 degrees, over a distance of 2.2 kilometres from the base station to the two mountain-top stations, even the gentlest breeze is enough to send one’s stomach churning. But once you get used to the sensation of being airborne, the ride quickly turns into an amazing, exhilarating experience. 

At the top, a sky bridge offers a breathtaking view of Langkawi. Remember to wear comfortable shoes as it is quite a walk up to the hanging bridge. The cable car operates from 10am to 7pm, subject to weather conditions. The service may be halted during strong winds. The cost is RM 5 for adults with a MyKad and RM 5 for children (prices subject to change).

You can get here by taxi or a car. Langkawi Cable Car is located on the southwest coast of the main island, just a 30-minute drive from Kuah Town and only 15 minutes from Langkawi International Airport. Your best bet is to either hire a car or a taxi for the day and explore the island at your own pace.
